I made these quilts inspired by the land and lakes of the Scandinavian countryside, the lakes being indigo dyed blue and the land in the other quilt made from naturally dyed cutch.
The pink shimmering skies in the summer, are naturally dyed madder which makes that peachy pink color. And the colorful fields of wildflowers, here represented by Sarah Watsons "Wheely Daisy" fabric for Cloud9.
Makes a great crib quilt or even for a toddler bed. But is also a good size for draping over an armchair or couch for a beautiful decor accent. Great as a little lap quilt in a chair, for the backyard, by the fire and so on.
The quilts are entirely hand quilted using Japanese Sashiko thread. And then hand bound all around. Slow made over many hours and made to last for year and years.
Great heirloom gift.
