These little handmade baby quilts are inspired by the longest day of the year, the eerie Scandinavian midsummer night where the sun never sets and girls pick wildflowers to put under their pillows to dream of their husband to be.
Midsummer is the no 2. biggest holiday celebration in Sweden, and also a celebration of fertility, and that’s how the baby blankets got their name.
These handmade blankets are made from naturally dyed indigo and madder, dyed in-house in small batches. Representing the wildflowers are either Sarah Watson’s “Flutterflies” fabric or Rashida Coleman-Hale’s “Flotsam and Jetsam Sanddollar”.
Every quilt is carefully hand quilted and bound by hand ( using indigo dyed binding). Measures 32”x38”, and great for a crib, stroller or cute play/tummy time blanket at home. Also super cute to hang on the wall. Great heirloom gift for a new baby.
